Founded in 1979 and incorporated in Texas in 1982, J M Robertson Inc has provided quality professional services to the engineering and construction industry for over 30 years. It has been doing business as AmOrient Engineering since 1990. The name reflects the application of American management expertise in the Orient as has been the case from Saudi Arabia to India, Thailand, Taiwan, and Guam. As a Texas corporation, Houston remains home base although the principal office and headquarters has been on Guam since 2002.
The founder, John M Robertson PE, occupied prior positions as manager and vice-president of large multinational contracting organizations. He is licensed as a professional engineer in Texas, Hawaii, Washington, Missouri, Virginia and Guam.
JM Robertson Inc dba AmOrient Engineering holds Firm Registration Number F-6457 from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Certificate of Authorization Number 258 from the Guam Board of Registration for Professional Engineers, Architects and Land Surveyors.
Business Focus
Throughout our existence on Guam, we have focused on projects for the Department of Defense. We have developed a good working relationship with NAVFAC Marianas and the various commands that they serve with engineering, construction and maintenance services requirements. As the military buildup progresses to 2014 and beyond, we expect to be involved and to play as significant a role as is possible for a small business enterprise. This will be on our own and through teaming arrangements with major organizations.
We believe strongly in service to the community in which we live and work. This has been manifested especially in the Guam Contractors Association, the GCA Trades Academy, the Society of American Military Engineers, the Guam Society of Professional Engineers, the Navy League, the Guam Chamber of Commerce and its Armed Forces Committee. We have been most vocal in support of the GCA Trades Academy and the need to prepare as many individuals from Guam and neighboring islands as possible for skilled construction trades positions for the military buildup and for permanent jobs to follow.
