Navy waterlines registered losses of 50%. Amorient used a high-sensitivity inline acoustic detection device along with LED light source and video camera, called SAHARA from Pure Technologies. The tethered system is inserted into a live pipeline and the footage viewed in real-time, enabling fast reporting.
Along Route 16, six sections (13,409 ft) of water main, was inspected and three leaks identified. Additionally, seven undocumented bends were identified via CCTV. Amorient obtained all the required permits and managed the repair of the leaks. Due to the success of the Route 16 project, Amorient was also awarded a further leak detection task order for Route 8.
