J.M. Robertson Inc. dba Amorient Engineering was established in Texas in 1982 by civil engineer John Robertson.  After he relocated to Guam, Amorient Contracting was incorporated in 2003, and Amorient Engineering was registered in 2005. In July 2019, John stepped down and was succeeded by Hernan Bonsembiante as President, and Gregory Cantelo as Vice President and Principal Engineer.

Hernan and Greg have known each other since 1993 when both worked on the US Navy Undersea Test & Evaluation Center (AUTEC) in the Bahamas. Hernan started at Amorient in 2013 as VP of Operations, and Greg in 2015 as Engineering Manager. The success of this management team stems from their blend of diverse skills and perspectives, enabling them to achieve goals effectively.

Amorient hosts interns during the summer, and encourages ongoing education in engineering and construction for all our staff. We support our inspectors in obtaining ICC qualifications to enhance their expertise. The firm has grown to employ more than 20 staff members from all over the world.
